thesis background
So I realize I never wrote about my thesis. Well in a nutshell, it's about suburbia. I wanted to make my photos sad, because I feel like growing up in Detroit suburbia, I got a different experience than any other suburban landscape. Detroit is falling apart, Michigan is falling apart. So. Sad pictures. I'll probably post examples of my inspiration later...
As I started shooting, I started concentrating on natural and man-made elements interacting. But, I guess I just want a lot of pictures, a lot of different details. We'll see how it evolves.
Also, I am concentrating on how certain songs enhance environment, like I was planning on making my thesis class a mix CD of songs that are important to me, or that give me the feeling that I want to portray in my photos. and this song is important right this second.

So here I am.
I've been going a lot of places lately. Like Houghton, and back to NYC. But when I've been home, I've been shooting like crazy for thesis. I just started seriously scanning tonight, and I'm a little worried about having prints ready in two weeks (since I am going back to NYC next week... woops...). Also, I am getting sick. Bummer. So, I guess that just means I am going to have to work extra hard for the next week, and scan like crazy.
Here is one of the images I worked on tonight.

so
I'm shooting for thesis (I don't have anything scanned yet...) and doing work for all of my other classes.
Somehow I found time to do a pro-bono shoot for my friend Corina, who needed a comp. card. She just got scouted by a modeling agency, but she doesn't have a lot of money. So, she told me she'd model for me in anything else I needed a model for if I shot her comp. card for her. We only had time for a 3 hour shoot, but it went pretty well.
SO if anybody knows anybody who needs comp. cards ($100-200 for a 3 hour shoot, depending on what they want)... I'LL DO THEM!
also, my friend mike is using a picture I took for his "under construction" banner on his website. no big deal.
I'm going to take a nap. I've been getting up at 7 every morning to shoot.
